Shade Can Be Hard To Recover From

A 1998 interview in which Jennifer Lopez shades several well-known actresses is making the rounds on the Internet again, just as Lopez is making Oscar buzz for her work in Hustlers.

Lopez Made a Big Boo Boo In 1998

Lopez said plenty of cringeworthy things, including that Gwyneth Paltrow was a star simply "by association."

Lopez' interview took place in 1998, the year Gwyneth won an Oscar for Best Actress for her work in Shakespeare In Love.

“Tell me what she’s been in? I swear to God, I don’t remember anything she was in," said Lopez at the time.

“Some people get hot by association. I heard more about her and Brad Pitt than I ever heard about her work.”

Diaz Is More Than a 'Lucky Model'

Lopez took aim at other actresses: She called Cameron Diaz a "lucky model" who could have been more successful, said Winona Ryder wasn't really popular, and said Madonna was a bad actress.

Lopez Does Regret Her Actions

These are all major yikes, but since then, J. Lo has atoned for her comments. Even three years after the interview came out she tried to clarify what she said, adding that the interview still follows her.

Last year she explained that she slammed the actresses to give herself a vibe, but clearly that didn't work since the interview has gone viral again.
