Jennifer Lopez rom-com Marry Me moves to summer 2021 release date

Jennifer Lopez's latest romantic comedy has gotten (temporary) cold feet.
Universal has announced the Golden Globe winner's upcoming graphic novel adaptation Marry Me will move from its previously announced Feb. 12 release date to the top of the studio's summer slate.
The film will now hit theaters on May 14, shifting back three months from its original Valentine's Day slot.
Marry Me follows Lopez as Latin pop star Kat Valdez, whose on-stage, playboy partner Bastian (recording artist Maluma in his feature film debut) blindsides her with an affair, prompting her to pull a publicity stunt by marrying a stranger, Charlie (Owen Wilson), a divorced high school math teacher, at one of her live concerts.
An updated plot description for the film notes that Kat and Bastian rule the pop culture stratosphere as the sexiest celebrity power couple in the world, with their hit single "Marry Me" climbing the charts while their relationship falls apart. Sarah Silverman costars as Charlie's best friend.
Lopez and Maluma also collaborated on a companion album for the film, with the pair dropping a preview in the form of a two-part music video for singles "Pa Ti'" and "Lonely" earlier this year.
Based on the graphic novel by Bobby Crosby, Marry Me is directed by Kat Coiro (Dead to Me) from a screenplay by John Rogers (The Librarians), Tami Sagher (30 Rock), and Harper Dill (The Mick).
