Jennifer Lopez Opens Up About Postponing Wedding to Alex Rodriguez Twice Due to COVID

Like many who entered the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic engaged, Jennifer Lopez has been forced to postpone her wedding to fiancé Alex Rodriguez — twice.
The couple, who got engaged in the spring of 2019, were originally planning on tying the knot in Italy last June. Because of the pandemic, they scrapped that plan, and Lopez recently revealed in an interview with Elle magazine that she and the former MLB star are unsure when the wedding will happen.
"We postponed the wedding twice. We had planned what we really, really wanted to do, [but] I don't know if we'll be able to re-create that," the "In the Morning" singer said. "We canceled it, and since then we haven't really talked about it. There's no rush. We want to do it right when we can do it."
"We just have to wait to see where the world lands," Lopez added to Elle.

Lopez, 51, has said before that she and Rodriguez, 45, aren't in a rush to have their wedding, and revealed last month that she looks at Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's relationship as inspiration.
"We've talked about that for sure," the singer said on Andy Cohen's SiriusXM show, Radio Andy, of Hawn and Russell's approach to marriage.

"At our age, we’ve both been married before, it’s like, do we get married? Do we not?" the singer said of her relationship with Alex Rodriguez
The two actors have been together for 38 years without feeling the need to wed.
"At our age, we've both been married before, it's like, do we get married? Do we not? What does it mean for us?" Lopez continued. "It comes down to personal, what do you want to do? There's definitely no rush though."
"It'll happen when it happens," she added later in the discussion, admitting that it was still "a little disappointing" to have to postpone.

Lopez is mom to 12-year-old twins Emme Maribel and Maximilian "Max" David, and Rodriguez is dad to daughters Ella Alexander, 12, and Natasha Alexander, 16. The six are now a blended family, and Rodriguez said this week that being a father is "by far the most important thing in my life."
"My father left me when I was 10 years old and I still have a hole in my heart because he left at that age. It was around the age of 11 that I made a promise to myself that I was going to be a great father whenever that moment came," the athlete said on the Raising the Bar podcast, per Entertainment Tonight. "That is by far the most important thing in my life, my two beautiful girls, and now our four kids."
