Jennifer Lopez Is Focusing on This Key Thing in Her Life Amidst Album & Tour Struggles

In February, Jennifer Lopez made quite a musical comeback. In addition to releasing her ninth studio album, This Is Me… Now, the actress also released a movie, a documentary and announced a full North American tour. But, while Lopez’s projects were full of passion, it turns out the reception was far less than what she expected.

In addition to not reaching high in the music charts, Lopez also canceled many of her tour dates due to poor ticket sales. So, how is Lopez feeling about it all? As it turns out, she’s keeping calm and carrying on.

“Jennifer’s very focused on her latest project and doesn’t want bad press to get in her head,” a source told Us Weekly. “[She’s had] plenty of problems like this before and has gotten over them,” the source continued, adding that “she moves on when things like this happen.”

Nevertheless, sources reiterated how proud Lopez still is about what she put out. “Jennifer is extremely proud of all the hard work she puts into her projects,” another source added. “She really doesn’t care what others think.”

By her side, her husband Ben Affleck has been a major cheerleader. “Ben has been a huge support through it all,” a source detailed, adding the Oscar winner keeps “Jen grounded” throughout it all.

As for what Lopez is focusing on now, on top of getting ready for her tour (which starts in late June), she has already started filming her next movie, Kiss of the Spider Woman. The project, which is a movie musical adaptation based on the novel by Manuel Puig, will also star Diego Luna and Tonatiuh Pucker, per Vulture.

The story follows prisoner Luis Molina (Pucker), a gay hairdresser serving an eight-year sentence for allegedly corrupting a minor, as he dreams of movies starring the fictional character Aurora (Lopez). His reality then changes when he meets Valentin Arregui Paz (Luna) and they build an unexpected bond.

“She’s looking for a fresh start,” a source said of Lopez’s next release. We can’t wait!
