Jennifer Lopez Channels Maid in Manhattan at Golden Globes with Bun and a Harry Winston Necklace

Jennifer Lopez’s Golden Globes braided updo gave her fans major nostalgia.

The 50-year-old actress, who snagged a best supporting actress nomination this year for her performance in Hustlers, turned heads last night in a Valentino gown featuring a gold and emerald green bow embellishments on the bodice, paired with major Harry Winston jewels.

Equally as impressive as Lopez’s full ball gown was her glam — specifically her hair, which was tightly pulled back into a giant braided bun and looked very familiar.

Although the star’s hairstylist Chris Appleton told InStyle exclusively that the show-stopping look was inspired by Grace Kelly, social media couldn’t help but compare it to the one her character (Marisa Ventura) wore in Maid in Manhattan.

In the classic rags-to-riches rom-com scene, Marisa (a maid at a swanky New York City’s hotel called The Beresford) got dressed up in black tie attire to attend a fundraiser with politician Christopher Marshall.

“@JLo is serving maid in Manhattan vibes tonight and I absolutely love it. #shecandonowrong #stylistonpoint #jloglo #GoldenGIobes,” one fan wrote on Twitter. While a second person said, “Jennifer Lopez look just like the scene from Maid in Manhattan when she borrowed the dress & necklace.”

“Jennifer Lopez pulled out the Maid in Manhattan bun! 😍” a third person said.

According to InStyle, Appleton used Color Wow products including Dream Coat Supernatural Spray, Cult Favorite Firm + Flexible Hairspray, and Pop & Lock High Gloss Shellac to create her sleek Golden Globes style.

Along with the voluminous braided bun, a strapless baby pink gown with a sweetheart neckline and ruching on the bodice, Marisa famously donned a Harry Winston diamond wreath necklace during the scene.

Last night, Lopez wore Harry Winston again — 145 carats of Colombian emeralds and diamonds including a 76.36-carat necklace set in 18k yellow gold and platinum, to be exact.

“JLO commands any room and moment,” her stylist Rob Zangardi, who co-curates Lopez’s wardrobe with Mariel Haenn, told PEOPLE last year. “Not only is her beauty so captivating, but she really knows how to make statements that grab attention with elegant authority.”

Haenn added: “It’s so exciting working with someone as timeless as JLO. She is such an incredible collaborator — as a stylist, it’s always so exciting to work with someone who can be endlessly transformative and daring.”
