After sources shared that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are living apart at the moment and fans noticed that they'd gone nearly 50 days without being photographed together, insiders are sharing that the A-list couple's marriage “is not in the best place at the moment," People reports. After a high-profile relationship and engagement in the '00s, followed by an equally as high-profile breakup, Lopez and Affleck reunited in 2021 and married in 2022.

Sources close to the stars say that Lopez is living in the couple’s $60 million Beverly Hills home and Affleck is a few miles away in a rental property. As to why the two are experiencing some rocky moments, insiders note that it comes down to their very different personalities and their approach to sharing their lives on social media.

“She likes to open her heart to her fans and to the world,” they said. “He is more introspective and private. This has been difficult day-to-day.”

The issue came up in Lopez's documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, which was released shortly after her album and film, This Is Me…Now: A Love Story. In a clip, Affleck explained that he wasn't ready to have their love life splashed all over the internet. Even with that admission, he noted that it seemed unfair to ask that of his wife.

“Getting back together, I said, ‘Listen, one of the things I don’t want is a relationship on social media,’” Affleck said. “Then, I sort of realized it’s not a fair thing to ask. It’s sort of like, you’re gonna marry a boat captain and you go, ‘Well, I don’t like the water.’”

Another source who worked with Affleck confirmed that the actor is "impressed" by his wife's work ethic, but can't get behind just how much she shares her life with her followers.

"He’s always been impressed about how she works so hard and has achieved so much success,” they said. “But the openness and promotion is not his way.”

They added that Ben isn't as “structured or disciplined in general as Jennifer" and that “this is not a bad thing, but it causes frustration.”
