Saturday Night Live is back in full swing for its 2023-24 run, and Jennifer Lopez and Ayo Edebiri are up next to take the stage. The Abbott Elementary actress has been tapped to host, while the “Jenny From The Block” artist is set to appear as the episode’s musical guest.

The legendary late-night show experienced a shortened 2022-23 season due to the writers strike, which also delayed the start of season 49. SNL came back in mid-October with former cast member Pete Davidson hosting and the rest of the cast returning intact.

Edebiri has been making headlines all throughout January due to her impressive awards show run. Thanks to her noteworthy work on The Bear, she has scored a Golden Globe, a Critic’s Choice Award, and an Emmy.

“I’m so incredibly grateful for this for so many reasons but the main one — this is a show about family and found family and real family — and my parents are here tonight,” the 28-year-old said in her Emmy Awards acceptance speech. “I’m making them sit kind of far away from me because I’m a bad kid, but I love you guys so much. Thank you so much for loving me and letting me feel beautiful and Black and proud of all of that. I just love you so much.”

Meanwhile, Lopez is gearing up to release her forthcoming album and short film, This Is Me… Now: A Love Story. The LP is a sequel to her 2002 album, This Is Me… Then, and is set to be released on Feb. 16. In terms of the accompanying film, it is described by Prime Video as a “narrative-driven, cinematic original that stems from the “heart, soul, [and] dreams of Jennifer Lopez.”
