The odds are ever in Hunger Games fans' favor at Paris Fashion Week.

During the Christian Dior show Tuesday, original franchise star Jennifer Lawrence crossed paths with Rachel Zegler, who stars in the upcoming prequel The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, adapted from Suzanne Collins's 2020 novel.

Zegler, 22, posted a video of the two chatting and laughing as they posed for photos on X (formerly Twitter).

"A mother to many. a mother to Me," Zegler wrote of Lawrence, 33, who is a real-life mom of one and also starred in the 2017 thriller Mother!, directed by Darren Aronofsky.

Other actresses at the Dior show in Paris on Tuesday, which spotlighted the designer's womenswear spring/summer 2024 collection, included Jenna Ortega, Anya Taylor-Joy and Charlize Theron.

Along with Lawrence, the series also starred Liam HemsworthJosh HutchersonWoody HarrelsonElizabeth BanksDonald SutherlandStanley TucciJulianne Moore and more.

Asked by Variety in June whether she'd ever reprise her role in a future installment of the franchise, Lawrence said, “Oh, my God – totally!”

“If Katniss could ever come back into my life, 100 percent," the Oscar winner added.

The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes follows a teenage Coriolanus Snow (played by Sutherland, 88, in the original series and in the new film by Tom Blyth), who eventually rises to become the tyrannical president of the dystopian nation of Panem and the primary villain of the series.

Director Francis Lawrence recently told Empire that Zegler's character, District 12 tribute Lucy Gray Baird, is the "anti-Katniss" in many ways.

"Katniss was an introvert and a survivor. She was quite quiet and stoic, you could almost say [she was] asexual," the director said. "Lucy Gray is the opposite. She wears her sexuality on her sleeve, [and] she really is a performer."

While at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2022, Lawrence told reporters the advice she'd give to the prequel cast: "You guys are going to have the best time. Just have fun — don't worry about anything.”

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes is in theaters Nov. 17. The first Hunger Games is returning to the big screen in October for a two-day engagement; tickets are available now at fathomevents.com.
