Jennifer Lawrence Almost Killed a ‘Hunger Games’ Crew Member Because of Her Itchy Butt
Jennifer Lawrence played an expert archer in The Hunger Games. But apparently, her butt can do just as much damage.
The 26-year-old Oscar winner appeared on The Graham Norton Show Friday, where she recounted a story about how she almost killed a crew member on the set of the second installment in the Hunger Games franchise while trying to scratch her butt.
The Catching Fire filming was taking place in Hawaii, Lawrence explained, where she was costumed in a wet suit for most of the day. Though she and her costars were warned not to disturb the sacred stones on the coast of the water from the locals, she couldn’t resist using the rocks to relive an itch her wet suit was causing.
“There were sacred rocks … and you’re not supposed to sit on them because you’re not supposed to expose your genitalia to them,” Lawrence told Norton, fellow guest Jamie Oliver and her Passengers costar Chris Pratt. “ they were so good for butt itching!”
The motion provided the satisfaction Lawrence was looking for — but it almost nearly had deadly consequences!

“One rock that I was butt-scratching on ended up coming loose,” Lawrence said. “And it was a giant boulder and it rolled down this mountain and it almost killed our sound guy!”
Lawrence is laughing now, but the people of Hawaii saw things differently.
“It was this huge dramatic deal and all the Hawaiians were like, ‘It’s the curse!’ ” she said. “And I’m over in the corner going, ‘I’m your curse. I wedged it loose with my ass.’”
