Jennifer Hudson's amazing Whitney Houston duet with the 'Voice' frontrunner

Davon Fleming, 25, floored the coaches on The Voice with his soulful rendition of “Me and Mrs. Jones.” All four coaches turned their chairs, and Jennifer Hudson even threw her shoe, so you know it was good. And that was just the tip of Hudson’s excitement over Davon.

After Davon’s performance, Hudson asked him who he was musically inspired by, and he responded with, “My mom, who is the greatest singer to me, next to my other mom, Whitney Houston.” “Mine too!” Hudson gleefully exclaimed. The next thing we knew, Hudson joined Devon onstage singing the classic hit from The Bodyguard, “I Will Always Love You.”

It seemed appropriate that the two bonded over Houston, considering the legendary singer presented Hudson with her first Grammy. Plus, the former American Idol contestant sang that song at the Grammys after Houston died.

Needless to say, Davon and Hudson were a perfect fit. Despite the other coaches’ best efforts, Davon went with his new BFF as his coach. After snagging Davon, Hudson said, “Davon is extremely special. I loved his presence, and he stole my heart with that amazing voice. He was a major victory, and the best part about it is I truly think he can win this show.”
