Jennifer Hudson found the cutest rom-com way to finally confirm her very private relationship with her boyfriend — she had him on The Jennifer Hudson Show. That’s one way to show the world you are dating Common! The adorable couple teased their dating situation— and it had us gushing.
The 51-year-old actor and rapper appeared on the daytime talk show on Monday, Jan. 22, and made a big impression by bringing his love a stunning floral bouquet. The 42-year-old talk show host coyly asked, “Are you dating anyone?” While affirming that he’s taken, Common dished about his relationship without ever uttering Hudson’s name. “I’m in a relationship that is with one of the most beautiful people I’ve met in life,” he praised her. “She’s smart, she loves God, she has something real down to earth about her. She’s talented.”

He even bragged about her accomplishments, noting that she had an EGOT — take some serious notes, Simone Biles’ husband. “She had to win an Oscar on her first movie,” he continued. “She had to get her own talk show.” When asked Hudson the same question about her dating life, the audience got the response everyone has been waiting for: “I’m dating this brother, and I am very happy,” she said.
If you thought they were done, think again! Common discussed how “happy” he was — and he went deep. “This relationship is a happy place for me,” the musician added. “For me, it’s one of those things where I found where seeing her happy actually makes me really happy. I’m very grateful. I thank God every day and I’m just letting God guide this relationship.” The audience couldn’t take it any longer and someone yelled out, “She’s the one!”
Common was right there with them, confirming, “Speak on it.” Now remember, he never said it was Hudson, but we were all in on the joke. However, don’t expect too many Hallmark moments from these two. The “Come Close” singer reminded the viewers, “We keep it private, but I want to acknowledge how wonderful she is, how great she is.”
The dynamic duo has been reportedly dating since 2022, but they’ve never confirmed their romance until now. Well, sort of.
