Life is a cabaret for Joel Grey!

The Oscar winner and Broadway legend, who turned 92 on April 11, celebrated his birthday at the August Wilson Theatre in New York City with his daughter Jennifer Grey and celebrity guests on Thursday.

The Dirty Dancing star, 64, was with her dad as he watched a performance of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club at the theater. Joel originated the role of Emcee in Cabaret when it debuted in 1966 and starred as Master of Ceremonies in the beloved 1972 film Cabaret.

He won an Oscar for his role in the film in 1973.

The Emcee in the revival of the Broadway show is currently being played by another Oscar winner: Eddie Redmayne, who joined Jennifer on the August Wilson stage to celebrate Joel’s birthday with a custom cake shaped like a pineapple and a serenade of the birthday song.

“Tonight is an extraordinarily special night for us because we are in the presence of an extraordinary human being without whom none of us would be here,” Redmayne, 42, said in a speech honoring Joel.
