Jennifer Garner gets goofy on social media, and she’s made some of the most fun-loving rom-coms out there, but to at least one of her children, she’s a fun-killer.

The mother of four shared a note she received, apparently from one of her children, on Instagram today, and it’s hilarious.

The photo is focused on a small scrap of paper with a message written in what is undeniably a child’s handwriting. The note reads, “When I grow up, I want to be a fun-killing mom, just like you!” in blue marker. In the comments, her friend Sara Foster revealed that the burn came from 9-year-old Seraphina.

Garner isn’t sure what to think. Is it meant to be a compliment, because one of her kids wants to be like her? Or, does the actress have a future comedian on her hands who thinks she sucks the fun out of everything?

Either way, it seems that her children — or at least one of them — don’t necessarily turn to her for fun. But she shouldn’t be surprised. Earlier this year, she revealed in a speech at Vanity Fair’s Founders Fair that the children think her ex-husband Ben Affleck is more likely to give them treats. “That would happen on such a special occasion,” she said of letting them have Oreos. “It’s such a moment! Or if Ben is around that might happen and then he gets credit for it, and I want to be like, ‘I like Oreos too! I’m fun too!’” Over the summer she admitted that her children are at an age where they make fun of her all the time.

Maybe if she let them use social media, they’d think she was more fun.

But what mom doesn’t love a handwritten note from her kid, no matter what it says?

Her famous friends feel her pain. Sara Foster wrote, “OMG Sera is just as savage as Violet.” Jenny Mollen commented, “Epic 🔥🔥 🔥🔥 🔥🔥,” while Katie Couric let emojis do the talking, “OMG 🤣🤣.”
