Jennifer Garner Thinks an “Alias” Reboot Would Be the 'Most Fun Ever' — but 'Nobody's Ever Really Brought It Up'

The spy series ran for five seasons on ABC from 2001 to 2006

More than 17 years after the series finale of Alias, Jennifer Garner is open to playing Sydney Bristow once again.

When asked about a possible reboot of the ABC series on The View Wednesday, the 51-year-old actress responded, “Oh my gosh, would that be the most fun ever? That would be so fun.”

That said, Garner did note that a potential reboot would need the seal of approval from show creator J.J. Abrams: “You know, that’s really, that's up to J.J. Nobody has ever really brought it up.”

Nearly two decades since the show ended, Garner says the cast — including Bradley Cooper, Victor Garber and Ron Rifkin — has maintained a close bond.

“Bradley, Victor, and Ron were just together — they were seeing Maestro, which is such an amazing movie,” she shared. “I see Victor and Ron all the time. So we’re all very, very close.”

Garner reunited with Cooper at a screening of the film about composer-conductor Leonard Bernstein earlier this month in Los Angeles.

In September, the 13 Going on 30 star also stepped out to the theater to see former TV father Garber perform in the Off-Broadway play Love Letters.

"If you are my person and you are on stage I’ll do what I can to see you. ♥️ @therealvictorgarber is my person," she wrote alongside a photo with Garber at the Irish Repertory Theatre in New York City.

"And on stage with incredible [J. Smith Cameron] =⭐️♥️👏," Garner added, shouting out the Succession actress, who starred alongside Garber in the A. R. Gurney play about two friends who exchange letters over a lifetime.

Garber, 74, posted the same photo of the pair on his own Instagram page, adding the caption: "Last night a surprise visit at Irish Rep Theatre."

Garner popped into the comments of Garber's post to praise the actor and give a knowing wink to fans of the CIA drama, sharing, "I wouldn’t miss seeing you on stage, my Spy Daddy. I love you, @therealvictorgarber. You and J. Smith were *chef’s kiss ♥️"

Back in 2021, Garner shared that she was ready for a reboot of Alias, which ran for five seasons from 2001 to 2006. On the series, she starred as Sydney Bristow, a double agent for the CIA who balanced going on stealth missions with maintaining her identity a secret from her friends and family.

"Sign me up," the actress told The Hollywood Reporter when asked about a potential reboot, teasing that she'd "grab Bradley by the scruff of his neck."
