Jennifer Connelly’s Rare Shoutout to Paul Bettany Shines a Light on a Lesser-Known Part of Their Dynamic

Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany are one of the sweetest couples in Hollywood, and this post proves they’re even perfect for each other on set.

On Nov 14, Connelly shared a series of photos from her on-set experience with her husband. She posted the behind-the-scenes photos to her Instagram with the caption reading, “Happy film anniversary to Shelter, directed by the talented and gorgeous @paulbettany ♥️.”

In the first photo, we see Connelly and Bettany sitting side-by-side together behind the scenes, followed by two film stills of Connelly playing her character Hannah.

We love that Bettany and Connelly seem so in synch in every sense of the word, and this shoutout proves they’re even magic together on set!

For those who don’t know, Shelter is a 2014 drama directed and written by Paul Bettany that follows an illegal immigrant, played by Anthony Mackie, and Connelly’s character, who is a heroin addict. The heart-wrenching film discusses love, friendship, addiction, and death; and it was released in theaters on Nov 13, 2015.

Now, Shelter isn’t the only movie they worked on together because the pair originally met on the set of A Beautiful Mind. After catching up at the 2002 BAFTA Awards, they started going out. They married in 2003, and later welcomed two children together named Stellan, 19, and Agnes, 11, along with Connelly’s son named Kai Dugan, 25, whom she shared with her ex David Dugan.

In a rare interview with Town & Country, Connelly talked about the one aspect that makes their marriage work so well. “I’m not the most gregarious person in the room, for sure. I think by coupling with Paul, that kind of works,” she said. I’m more reserved. I can be kind of shy in a group. I mean, I manage it pretty well, but he’s much more outgoing than I am. Once I’m comfortable with someone, I’m not reserved.”
