Jennifer Aniston said that she didn't want an intimacy coordinator while filming the sex scenes for "The Morning Show."

In a new interview with costar Reese Witherspoon and Variety, Aniston opened up about what it was like to do a sex scene with her costar and longtime friend Jon Hamm.

As it turned out, the production crew offered to hire an intimacy coordinator for her, but she turned them down.

"I'm from the olden days, so I was like, 'What does that mean?'" Aniston told Variety. "They said, 'Where someone asks you if you're OK,' and I'm like, 'Please, this is awkward enough!' We're seasoned — we can figure this one out."

An intimacy coordinator's job is to ensure that intimate scenes are filmed safely and that the actors' boundaries are respected. Apart from nudity and sex, they can also help ensure sequences that involve childbirth and death are filmed thoughtfully.

Despite not having an intimacy coordinator on set, the 54-year-old actor added she always felt "protected " thanks to the show's director Mimi Leder.

Her costar Hamm's consideration also put her at ease, she continued.

"I never felt uncomfortable. Jon was such a gentleman, always — I mean every move, every cut, 'You OK?' It was also very choreographed," Aniston said.
