Jennifer Aniston has given her former co-star Matthew Perry a warm welcome to Instagram, complete with a Friends reference.

The 50-year-old seized the opportunity to callback to a moment in the sitcom which saw her character Rachel and Courteney Cox's Monica fail to recall what Chandler did for work.

Sharing a throwback of the pair as well as a clip from the episode, Aniston wrote: "I'm shocked Matty is the last to join Instagram, considering he was a uh... umm....oh c***. Oh! A computer processing TRANSPONSTER. #FBF."

Perry, who is the last Friends star to join Instagram, made a mark with his first post as he shared a clip of Chandler dancing.

"This is how thrilled I am to finally be on Instagram. So, here we go..." he captioned the post.

Aniston is a relative newcomer to the platform herself, having only signed up for her official Instagram account back in October.

She made quite the impression upon her arrival though as she made her debut with a photo alongside all five of her main Friends co-stars, Perry, Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.

Fans flocked to Aniston's page only for the sudden influx to cause glitches on Instagram.

She managed to break a record for the photo-sharing site as she racked up her first million followers in five hours and 16 minutes.

Aniston ousted the previous record holders, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who had managed the same feat in five hours and 45 minutes.
