Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux Star in Forgotten ‘Friends’ Episode
Even the most dedicated Friends fans might have missed the episode in which Jennifer Aniston’s character Rachel Green receives an instant marriage proposal from Justin Theroux’s alter ego on The Leftovers, Kevin Garvey. Is anyone familiar with “The One Where Rachel Meets Kevin”?
OK, so it’s not really an episode, but it could be! It’s our imagining of the exact moment when Theroux’s Garvey, in a visit to Manhattan from Mapleton, N.Y., crosses paths with Green in Central Park.
In real life, Aniston and Theroux are celebrating a year of marriage on August 5. The two swapped vows in a secret, star-studded wedding in the backyard of their home in the tony L.A. neighborhood of Bel Air. They dated for about four years before that, after serendipitously meeting in Hawaii, where he was shooting the movie Tropic Thunder and she was on vacation.
Although they kept their wedding plans under wraps, the two aren’t shy when it comes to gushing about one another.
“Married life is so normal and fun and not much different,” Aniston told Harper’s Bazaar in March. “We felt married for so long.”
She added that her husband has one of her favorite traits: a good sense of humor.
“I’m lucky because Justin is the funniest person I’ve met, and we make each other laugh,” she told the magazine.
Theroux revealed in November that he makes it a point to regularly remind Aniston that she’s beautiful.
“Not to be corny, but it’s true,” he said. “So I constantly say that.”
