Jennifer Aniston is gearing up for her return to TV and she’s committed to making it “perfect.”

A source tells PEOPLE the actress, who turns 50 on Monday, is hard at work on her untitled morning show drama which she stars in with Reese Witherspoon. The two are also executive producers on the project. It will mark Aniston’s first recurring TV role since she wrapped Friends back in 2004.

“Jen has always been a hard worker and a perfectionist when it comes to filming,” says the source.

According the source, Aniston also shows her appreciation toward the cast and crew, which includes Witherspoon, Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

“She often caters special treats for the crew and is always the first one to thank everyone for their hard work,” the insider continues.

Adds a set source, “Jen is amazing. Having worked with her before, it’s fantastic to see how focused and committed she always is to making her project perfect.”

Based on journalist Brian Stelter’s book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV, the show will follow the dynamics and drama involved with producing a morning show. It’s been picked up by Apple TV for two seasons, or 20 episodes.

Aniston and Witherspoon, 42, were named among Hollywood’s highest-paid TV actors in 2018, with both earning a reported $1.1 million per episode for their upcoming show, according to Variety. The women have a history on the small screen: Witherspoon guest-starred on Friends as Rachel (Aniston)’s little sister Jill for two episodes during the show’s sixth season.

Aniston has been busy with work since her split from actor Justin Theroux last February after more than two years of marriage and seven years together. Before she began on the Apple TV show, she filmed an upcoming Netflix movie with pal Adam Sandler, and released Netflix’s coming-of-age drama Dumplin’.

As a source previously told PEOPLE, “She isn’t concerned about dating. She is happy to focus on work.”
