Jenna Johnson Says She's Getting the 'Best of Both Worlds' Balancing 'DWTS' and Motherhood

Jenna Johnson is finding the perfect balance between work and motherhood.

At the Dancing with the Stars Season 32 casting announcement event in New York City on Thursday, the pro dancer, 29, opened up about striking a balance between dancing and caring for her son Rome, 8 months.

"It's an adjustment for sure, but it's so rewarding" Johnson says. "I think I'm so excited to be back on the show. And so looking forward to working with Tyson [Beckford] every day has been so much fun."

"And then getting to come home to my sweet, chunky baby is just a dream. So I feel I truly have the best of both worlds right now. It's exhausting but it's so worth it."

Johnson and husband Val Chmerkovskiy, 37, welcomed their first baby together in January. A month later, she shared a photo of her son on Instagram, revealing his name.

"Cannot believe it's been 4 weeks of being completely infatuated with you. Thank you for bursting my heart wide open and showing me what unconditional love is," Johnson captioned the sweet post.

Although the couple kept the name they'd chosen private, they had it picked out for years, Johnson told PEOPLE exclusively in July 2022.

"We actually have had a boy and a girl name picked out for three years now," Johnson shared at the time. "Val actually picked out the name for our boy, so we have it."

After welcoming their son, Johnson and Chmerkovskiy have shared updates on their new life as a family of three on their Instagram accounts. In April, Johnson posted an adorable round up of photos, simply captioning the post, "life lately."

Johnson began the post by sharing a photo of their son, sweetly referring to him as "Rolly Polly Olly."

Johnson also posted a video of her husband getting a tattoo of what appeared to be their son's birthdate. She added a tribute to her family of three by including a photo with her son and her husband, calling them "my everything."
