Jenna Dewan Supports James Van Der Beek After 'DWTS' Elimination & Wife's Miscarriage
Jenna Dewan is not happy with "Dancing With The Stars" judges on their call ahead of the show's finale. The 38-year-old mom-to-be took to social media to air out her frustrations after they eliminated "Dawson's Creek" star James Van Der Beek from Monday's show. Dewan, who is pregnant with her second child, told her fans how disappointed she was with their decision to end Van Der Beek's reign on the ABC competition show and sent kind words to the actor and his family after he revealed he didn't just suffer a loss on the show because his wife had a miscarriage.

"I. Am. Speechless." Dewan wrote on her Instagram story. She added, "I will never understand @dancingabc sending @vanderjames home. He was absolutely amazing every single week." And for anyone questioning Dewan's judgment, she's got the dancing credits to back her up. The star first rose to fame for her role in "Step Up," where she danced alongside her former husband, Channing Tatum, in 2006. Dewan hit it big with the Blockbuster film and moved on to become a judge on ABC's competition dance show, "So You Think You Can Dance." She now is the host of Jennifer Lopez's "World of Dance" competition series.
Revealing The Miscarriage:
Jenna Dewan followed up her argument by sending her condolences to James Van Der Beek and his wife after the actor revealed his wife suffered a miscarriage on top of everything. "Sending all my love to sister @vanderkimberly @vanderjames and family. The love you guys share is inspiring." She added a heart emoji and the praying hands symbol. The actor, who was paired with dancer Emily Slater, took to social media following his elimination to reveal the loss of their unborn child.
Sharing a picture of his wife, Kimberly, in a hospital gown with their daughter, he captioned the photo, "Wrecked. Devastated. In shock. That’s how we’re feeling right now after the soul we thought were going to welcome into our family has taken a short cut to whatever lies beyond this life." He added, "There are no words... thank you everyone for the love & support. It’s exactly what we need." He continued by writing, “Grateful that she’s now recovering, but we’ve only just begun unpacking the layers of this one. Thank you to all of our friends and co-workers (and dance partners) who have shown up for us so beautifully during this time. As many of you have said, ‘There are no words…’ and it’s true. Which is why in a time like this it’s enough to know that you’re there. Grieving AND counting our blessings today."
Announcing The Pregnancy:
Prior to the elimination, Van Der Beek dedicated what would be his final dance to his wife. “Kimberly, I love you. Thank you for pushing me out on that dance floor,” he said before judges awarded him and Slater a 27/30. “Thank you for everything you do. I don’t know how you do it. Five kids. You’re amazing.” Kimberly hinted at the miscarriage ahead of the show by taking to social media and posting, “It was a TOUGH weekend. Extra thankful right now to have help with my kids. Keeping these cuties happy as can be while I replenish at home.”
The "Dawson's Creek" alum originally announced the pregnancy on the dancing competition show in October. Taking time out of the show to share the news with fans, producers shared the first ultrasound on "DWTS" and took the actor took to social media to explain their decision. "Thrilled beyond belief to announce that another little bundle of joy has picked us to be their family," he stated while sharing a photo of his family. Stating they went public with the pregnancy because they've miscarried so many times and wanted to shed light on the situation. It's "something I NEVER thought we’d ever do..." he said, "but @vanderkimberly and I have been through three of those first appointments to discover either no heartbeat, or no baby, and she wanted to share this moment." He added, "We decided to put ourselves out there - not knowing what we’d find - in an effort to chip away at any senseless stigma around this experience and to encourage people who might be going through it to open themselves up to love & support from friends and family when they need it most." This would have made baby #6 for the couple, who are already parents to Gwendolyn, 16 months, Emilia, 3, Annabel Leah, 5, and Olivia, 9, and Joshua, 7.
