How Jenna Bush Hid Pregnancy for Over Five Months: 'Everybody Is Super Impressed,' Says Source

Right next to “first daughter” and “Today co-host,” Jenna Bush Hager can add “master of secrets” to her résumé.

The third-time mom-to-be shocked Today viewers and colleagues alike Monday when she revealed that she and husband Henry Hager are expecting their third child, a baby boy.

A source tells PEOPLE that Bush Hager, 37, is “more than five months” along — something that made her ability to keep mum extra masterful.

“Everybody is super impressed that Jenna could hide the pregnancy for more than five months,” the insider reveals. “It’s really hard to hide anything beyond the first pregnancy.”

Nearly a week after Hoda Kotb announced she had adopted a second daughter, Hope Catherine, her new 10 a.m. co-host surprised her co-anchors by dropping the news that she and Hager, 40, are expecting baby No. 3.

“Yes, I’m pregnant!” Bush Hager said on Today, leaving Craig Melvin gasping. “I’m very pregnant. I don’t know how you missed this! I’ve needed seven or eight sports bras.”

Bush Hager may have only come forward with her baby news after she was well into her second trimester, but for eagle-eyed fans who’ve been tuning in to the Today show over the past few months, there have seemingly been a few clues that could’ve tipped them off.

The pregnant star (who is most often seated behind a desk, potentially hiding any evidence of a baby bump on camera) has worn a variety of loose-fitting garments during her recent time on the show, as well as made use of accessories like long scarves and the opportunity to pose behind others (including her own kids!).

Following the departure of Kathie Lee Gifford from NBC earlier this month, a fan congratulated Bush Hager on her new 10 a.m. co-hosting gig with Kotb, 54, by gifting her custom glasses filled with white wine — however, she was not shown drinking from them.
