Jenna Bush Hager says her kids still have some of that southern charm.

Despite welcoming all three of her kids with husband  Henry Hager in New York City, theToday with Hoda & Jenna co-host, 41, says that a friend of her mom sent "Texas dirt" to be present at her kids births.

"Somebody actually sent my mom Texas dirt to be put under the bed when I delivered my children so that they could be born on Texas soil in New York City," she revealed, puzzled by the idea.

"Your kids are always going to have Texas in them. That's where they go to summer camp," co-host Hoda Kotb, 59, replied.

"And they do have southern accents, because once I start to have a margarita and put on some Willie Nelson, I'm a whole new person," Bush Hager added.

The author mom then joked that while Hal, 4, Poppy, 8, and Mila, 10, sleep, she'd "just put a little recording when they sleep, not in their ears because I'd hate to damage them, [that says] 'y'all, y'all, y'all.' "

"In the room," Kotb laughed. "Over and over."

On an episode ofToday with Hoda & Jenna last week, the pair discussed their summer vacations, with the former first daughter sharing that she'd visited Normandy, France, with her family.

"My 84-year-old mother-in-law took all of us — well not all of us, one of us stayed home, but it was okay, that was all — but almost all of us to France," she began. "We went to Normandy, we saw the D-Day beaches, the cemetery."

"What did your kids, cause your kids are at the age now here they're kind of understanding. Did you explain things to them?" Kotb asked her co-host.

"Yes and I was so impressed...their favorite day was when they went and visited the American cemetery at Normandy," Bush Hager replied. "They just thought it was moving and they could feel it and they never said, 'I'm bored.' They never once...Well, there was one day there was a little grumpiness."

"How did you tee that up?" Kotb asked Bush Hager about her ability to get her kids to stay alert.

"There was a lot of pre-game and a lot of teaching of history — we read Poppy some books. And also it's like, 'Your grandmother is 83 and her father fought in World War II and it's going to be meaningful for her,' " Bush Hager said.

In July, the mom of three shared some sage parenting advice she received. "Somebody gave this advice to me when my kids — and they’re still young — but when Mila was young, was, ‘Listen to all the stuff,' " she recalled.

"And sometimes you don’t want to because they’re endless. But now, Mila writes me these letters from camp that have every detail. And other people are like, ‘All I heard was it was fun,’ " she said of her oldest.

"I’m hearing every. Single. Thing," she continued. "And then she wrote Poppy this letter that made Henry and I weep, which was like, ‘You’re going to feel homesick. You’re going to feel homesick, but the difference is, I got you.' "

Mila's letter to Poppy continued, "I got you. I’m there for you. I’ll be there for you next year, and you can come into my cabin and I've got you."
