"That is so hilarious," Kotb says after watching the clip.

"By the way, that’s any family when the parents smooch," Bush Hager responds.

"In the car is one thing, but also in front of where your friends are. If your friends are anywhere within, like school pickup," Kotb says.

"Oh I can’t wait to do that," Bush Hager jests.

"Is that what you’re going to do with Henry?" Kotb asks.

"Oh yeah. I love embarrassing my children. And I don’t mean it in a mean way. I mean it in a 'ha ha' way. It’s one of the best joys of parenting," Bush Hager says.

"Like what, give me an example," Kotb responds.

"Sometimes I’ll be taking Mila to school and I’ll be like, [singing] ‘Driving carpool,’ and then I’ll put up some Cardi B —like, the clean version — and I’ll be rolling into the carpool line. And Mila’s like, ‘Turn it down! Turn it down. You’re so embarrassing mom, turn it down!’" Bush Hager recalls.

"And I also have been, I told you, all Mel Robbins on Mila. I made her stand in front of the mirror and repeat after me yesterday: ‘I am brilliant, I am beautiful, I take up space, I’m a good dancer, I’m good at math.’ So I had her to do the whole thing and she was participating and then at the very end, she said ‘not’ and ran upstairs."

"That’s a kid thing," Kotb tells her co-host.

"But Mel Robbins won’t accept that," Bush Hager says.

"But I do think it is a good idea to sometimes," Kotb says of embarrassing her kids. "Like, sometimes I go, ‘What would you give me if I just started dancing right here in the sidewalk in the middle of New York City while people are walking by?’ ‘Mom don’t.’ I go, 'You know I’m going to do it, right? Right? Right?’"

"And usually there’s an age where they stop joining in. It’s like when you go, ‘Swing like a tree’ and they go, ‘No.’ Like, before when they used to do it, there was that. But I do think there is something about watching your mom, like, we don’t care if we’re embarrassed. I think there’s something cool about a lesson we’re teaching there," she continues.

"I hope so," Bush Hager says.

"I think what I’ve learned is by saying you’re teaching them a lesson, you’re not teaching them. You just have to stop and start dancing and not give them anything," Kotb responds.

"Or roll up to Cardi B?" Bush Hager teases.

"Yeah, without making a to-do about it. That’s just what we do," Kotb says. "We take up space," Bush Hager responds.

Bush Hager shares her three kids — Hal, 4, Poppy, 8, and Mila, 10 — with husband Henry Hager. Kotb is mom to daughter Hope, 4, and Haley, 6.
