Greater Cincinnati's ice cream lovers will no longer have to travel far for their Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams fix.

Norwood mixed-use development Factory 52 said in a social media post that the scoop shop is now open after teasing it last year when the development was under construction.

It is the first Greater Cincinnati location for Columbus-based Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, an award-winning company that now has parlors in 14 states and Washington D.C. It was founded in 2002 by Jeni Britton.

Jeni's is known for its 25 flavors, which its website says are inspired by curiosities, art, history and pop culture. The company touts a "uniquely smooth texture and buttercream body, with bright flavor and clean finish" in its ice creams, many of which are based on baked goods and other confections.

Hours are noon to 11 p.m. daily at its 2755 Park Ave. location in Norwood.
