Millennium Media President Jeffrey Greenstein has made it official: He’s leaving Avi Lerner’s company after 14 years and launching his own production and sales outfit, A Higher Standard.

Greenstein unveiled his new company in Berlin as the European Film Market kicked off. His first feature under the new label will be the action-comedy Playdate, which Greenstein will co-finance and co-produce with Nickel City’s Mark Fasano.

In the boilerplate for the new shingle, Greenstein said A Higher Standard will “develop and co-finance a robust slate of films and television projects that engage and entertain a global audience with high-concept action, comedies and elevated genre.” As is the case with Millennium, the company will also have a sales unit.

Greenstein’s split with Millennium is believed to be amicable. Millennium co-President Jonathan Yunger has been appointed President.

Greenstein joined Millennium Media in 2010 and has produced more than 60 films at the company, including The Expendables, Has Fallen and Hitman’s Bodyguard franchises. He became President of international sales and distribution at Nu Image/Millennium Films in 2015 and was named President of the company a year later.
