Jeff Lewis Says Partner Gage Edward Went on Date with 'Homewrecker' One Week After Separation

One week after Jeff Lewis announced his partner of ten years Gage Edward had moved out of their family home, the Flipping Out star says he found out Edward went on a date.

“We’ve been getting along pretty well until I found out that he went out on a date on Saturday night,” Lewis said on his SiriusXM radio show Jeff Lewis Live on Tuesday. The famous house flipper, 48, stated that he discovered that Edward, 33, and a companion dined at Mastro’s Steakhouse in Beverly Hills — a restaurant known for celebrity sightings — where, Lewis claims, he was bound to be seen.

“That, No. 1, is a big f—ing misstep,” said Lewis, who shares daughter Monroe, 2, with Edward.

He didn’t reveal how he knew the details of the romantic rendezvous, but noted, “I found this out because I have excellent, accelerated and investigative interrogation skills. I’m gifted that way.”

Lewis also says he confronted Edward with the information, stating, “I asked him if he had paid for the date, which he did.”

“I’m sure that I’m going to be getting more information as this moves forward,” Lewis added. “But you can say that I don’t feel good about this at all.”

Lewis then revealed he does not believe Edward and his date just met, suggesting instead they met at the gym some time ago.

“I will not say his name, but just for today, we’re going to call him ‘home wrecker,'” Lewis said of the anonymous man. “Home wrecker, I think, has been in [Gage’s] ear for quite some long time. I think home wrecker has exploited quite a vulnerable situation. I think this person positioned himself as a gym buddy friend, and I think this person has set his sights on him for quite some time.”

He added, “I don’t think [Gage is] thinking clearly, and I do not like this guy.”

Lewis also made a number of claims about what he believes to be the intentions of Edward’s alleged gym buddy.

“I think he was aware of what was happening. I don’t think he’s concerned about breaking up a family or jeopardizing Gage’s career or financial situation,” the Bravo star said. “I don’t think he’s concerned about that at all. I doubt this person’s intentions. We’ll just leave it at that.”

After stating last week that Edward had moved into a hotel, Lewis claimed on Tuesday’s episode, that he is now moving into a “sexy, swanky, bachelor pad in Hollywood” that he is renting.

Edward told PEOPLE he had no comment about the situation.

Lewis also admits that in reaction to the information he believes he turned up on his estranged partner, he set up an online dating account of his own the following day.

“Because I was feeling down on myself on Sunday I said, ‘Maybe it’s time to start dating,’” Lewis said on his show. “So I dabbled in the online dating world. And I met someone who was kind of interesting. We started talking, we exchanged pictures, and we started texting fast and furiously. That went on throughout the entire day.”

However, Lewis says that flame burnt out quickly once he told the man he had a daughter.

Apart from the relationship troubles, Lewis and Edward have had a tumultuous year.

Lewis’s grandmother passed away and Lewis and his personal and professional relationship with his friend of nearly 20 years and Flipping Out costar, Jenni Pulos, ended. The latter, Lewis has suggested may lead to the end of their Bravo series after 11 seasons.

The couple’s relationship news also comes nearly 8 months after their surrogate, who carried their daughter, filed a lawsuit against them. Alexandra Trent is suing the couple as well as Bravo and the show’s production company, Authentic Entertainment, claiming that the show filmed her vagina without permission during her delivery and that Edward and Lewis made “disgusting” remarks about her.

She is seeking damages for unlawful recording, invasion of privacy and fraud. Lewis has strongly refuted these claims, but the legal action is ongoing and will likely go to trial.

On Tuesday, Lewis took responsibility for Edward choosing to move out.

“I am 90 percent responsible for why we are here,” he said. “I emotionally abandoned him last year. I was a completely prick. I turned on him. I pushed him away. It was my worst year. I experienced great loss. I lost my best friend of many years, Jenni, my grandmother, our surrogate, who I cared for. It was great loss and I did not handle it well. I self-destructed, I did. I didn’t even recognize myself. By the time I tried to correct the situation, which wasn’t until Jan. 1 of this year, it was too late.”

“I take responsibility,” he continued. “Believe it or not, I changed a lot in the last 30 days. There’s things that I’ve done and said that I would never do again to anyone, any person . . . I was circling the drain, I really was . . . It’s extremely f—ing painful, let me tell you.”
