Jurassic World Dominion isn't just the sixth and final installment in the long-running, dino-rampaging franchise, it's also a reunion that's been decades in the making. The film unites the stars of the 1993 original (Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum) with the cast of the Jurassic World sequels (Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt), along with a few notable newcomers (including DeWanda Wise and Mamoudou Athie).

So when EW gathered the Dominion cast and director Colin Trevorrow for our Around the Table video series, they opened up about the pressure of not only wrapping up the Jurassic World series but also the story Steven Spielberg first introduced in 1993.

"It's a big deal," Howard said. "We had been talking about this sort of fantasy idea of what a third movie would be, where we were like, 'Oh my God, it would be Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern and Sam Neill.' We always aspired to reach that point."

"When [Colin] told me the whole [plot], I was like, 'Oh my God, I'm so glad you're in charge of all this,'" Pratt added. "Because if it was up to me, I would've blown it."

John Wilson/Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum join Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in 'Jurassic World Dominion.'

With Dominion hitting theaters June 10, the cast reflected on the long, eventful shoot, from sharing scenes with animatronic dinosaurs to the perils of shooting in a pandemic. After the COVID epidemic shut down filming in early 2020, the cast and crew eventually returned to set, quarantining and living together in the same hotel. There, they bonded over movie nights and spent their free time rehearsing. (Howard also earned a reputation for being "phenomenal" at cutting hair, happily providing trims to both her castmates and their family.)

But all agreed that one of the most memorable days of filming came on the very last day, as the cast prepared to wrap. As they gathered to mark the occasion, Goldblum gave an impromptu speech, reciting an inspirational George Bernard Shaw quote — one he then proceeded to repeat again for EW from memory.

Goldblum has spoken about his love for Shaw before, and he's shared the same quote on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. But his castmates say it was the perfect ending to a long, emotional shoot.

"We were all cramped in this tiny helicopter that DeWanda's piloting, and I remember it took all of our breath away," Athie explains. "It was an incredible moment."
