The force is strong with us this Friday with a free screening of "Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi."

The rescheduled Movies in the Park event is the joint effort of the Kern County Sheriff's Office and Starlight Movie Project.

Originally set for May 4, aka "Star Wars" Day, the screening at Polo Community Park was rescheduled due to inclement weather.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets.

The concession stand opens at 7 p.m. followed by the movie at 8 p.m. Friday at the park, 11801 Noriega Road.
