Jeannie Mai Says She Found Out “With The Rest Of The World” When Jeezy Filed For Divorce

Jeannie Mai has opened up about her ongoing divorce from rapper, Jeezy, mentioning that she found about the filing with the rest of the world. While visiting The Jennifer Hudson show this month, Mai gave an update on how she’s been doing since the news broke, which she says she felt “gutted” by.

“I think I’m doing better now,” the former daytime talk show co-host said on Monday’s episode. “At the time, when I found out at the same time as the rest of the world that my marriage was ending in divorce, I was gutted. Today, it’s about picking up the pieces. It’s about discovering me and being a mom to the best blessing in my life, my little girl.”

Mai, who shares 1-year-old Monaco with Jeezy, né Jay Wayne Jenkins, added, “Even though this year I met the most broken version of me, I also met the strongest version of me today.” See below.

Jeezy announced his filing for divorce from the 44-year-old in September after two years of marriage.

Reportedly, the 46-year-old rapper also asked for joint physical and legal custody of their daughter Monaco, and for their prenuptial agreement to be enforced. Although a specific reason hasn’t been revealed for the split, Jeezy deemed their union “irretrievably broken,” according to several sources.

He also revealed that the two of them were already “living in a bona fide state of separation.”

However, following Jeezy’s sit-down with Nia Long where he declared that “real ni**as don’t cheat,” more information has surfaced which hint at infidelity on the “Trap or Die” artist’s end.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Mai’s attorney countered Jeezy’s prenuptial requests with the note, “Wife reserves the right to amend this counterclaim to add other grounds for divorce, but which Wife does not wish to specify herein at this time in the hope this matter can be resolved without having to disclose such conduct publicly.”

It also highlighted how the pre-nup is void, stating, “Wife further shows that the Court should enforce Paragraph 8 of the Prenuptial Agreement regarding infidelity which provides, in pertinent part, that in the event that either party engages in sexual relations, an emotional relationship, or is emotionally or sexually suggestive in communication with a third party via all forms of electronic communications, including but not limited to texting, sexting, Facetiming, social media and/or Direct Messages, shall result in a significant financial penalty upon the adulterous party…”

Neither Jeezy nor Mai have confirmed nor denied infidelity allegations about each other.
