Jeannie Mai Jenkins alludes to going off the digital grid in a new upload amid her divorce from rapper Jeezy.

The 44-year-old shared a simple message, signed with the black heart emoji on Instagram. Shared on Wednesday night (Oct. 11), the text image is the first photo published on her account since the spilt was announced.

“Sometimes you need to take a break and disconnect, to heal,” reads the photo in a handwritten font. According to ET, the television host has “been spending more time in Atlanta to try to work things out with Jeezy.”

The “All There” rapper filed for divorce last month after the pair had separated. Jeezy and Jeannie dated since 2019 and tied the knot in March 2021 in an intimate ceremony in the rapper’s hometown. Together, the entertainers share a one-year-old daughter, Monaco Mai Jenkins. Jeezy is reportedly seeking joint legal custody.

Per ET, Mai was shocked by the legal proceedings. A source shared with the outlet, “Things haven’t been great between Jeannie and Jeezy for a few months, but she is still very surprised that he filed for divorce.”

The outlet cites court documents asserting the marriage is “irretrievably broken” and “there is no hope for reconciliation.”

Unfortunately for Hollywood couples, breakups and divorce have been the year’s top trend. Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith, Damian Lillard and Kay’la Hanson, and Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert are among many who have announced splits.
