Jean-Claude Van Damme’s Amazon Show Looks Amazing
Jean Claude Van Damme stars in a new action-comedy series from Amazon Studios with Phylicia Rashad and it looks awesome. Strange sentence, sure, but it’s totally true. Judging by its trailer, Jean Claude Van Johnson seems slightly confusing but surprisingly awesome.
Okay, so here’s the premise: JCVD plays a washed-up action star who’s trying to get back into the game - resuming not just his movie career, but his secret side job as an international spy. Phylicia Rashad plays the M to Van Damme's Bond, with Moises Arias of The Middle as his Q. The trailer not only pokes fun at Van Damme’s status as a past-it star, but also at action movie tropes, like all the bad guys conveniently attacking the hero one at a time.
Oh, and the real-life JCVD was supposedly fired from his title role in Predator because of his unshakeable belief that the Predator should kickbox. Just a fact that bears remembering.
