Jay Shetty and Radhi Devlukia are celebrating each other’s gifts this holiday season.

The life coach, 36, and the cookbook author, 33, are headlining the new Gap Holiday 2023 campaign, which “offers a fresh take on the idea of ‘Gifted,’” according to a press release.

When the couple — who has been married since 2016 — was approached by the clothing brand to model for the campaign, Jay tells PEOPLE he was “really excited” because “getting to do anything with my wife was always fun for me."

“Growing up in the U.K., we'd always look to the iconic U.S. holiday Gap campaigns. And I think I'd always look at that and be like, ‘Wow, this is so cool. They've had so many iconic people,’” the On Purpose podcast host recalls. “And I was like, ‘Can't believe they've thought of us. This is so sweet and it's so kind and generous.’”

As for Radhi, being asked to be a part of the campaign was “really incredible because I've been wearing Gap from when I was a baby,” she says, and the store locations were where her family “would all spend our Christmases together."

“It would be this special thing that they would buy the same thing for all seven of us girls,” Radhi says of the seven granddaughters in her family wearing the brand. “For so many years, it was a Gap sweatshirt, or it would be a Gap knitwear or a cardigan or something that all of us would be put into.”

She adds, “My mom would always, whenever she wanted to buy something that was good quality or actually splurge a little bit... I remember that she would choose to go to Gap when it was buying a gift for someone, or whether it was, ‘Oh, we need a really good winter sweater or something,’ and she would buy it.”

“She still has a few of the cardigans and jumpers that she bought 30 years ago that's in her closet,” says Radhi. “So I'm so excited, because whenever I go back and I go to her closet for something really warm when it's cold, I always end up picking one of her Gap sweaters from ages ago. It's got a comfort feel to it... that feels like such a welcoming, casual, just family-oriented type of company."

The Gap Holiday 2023 campaign is “anchored in love and togetherness, celebrating the gift of self-expression with Gap's most-loved essentials, to finding the perfect gift to show how much you appreciate your loved ones, to the gift of being with each other during the holidays,” according to the brand's press release.

When asked what they think their spouse’s biggest "gift" is as a person, Radhi says of the “many gifts” her husband offers: “I think his gift has always meant to be able to share things which could feel really out of reach and very difficult to understand.”

“Because he's understood it so well, he's able to express it to people so beautifully and help them connect to it too,” she continues. “And I think whether it's to do with finding a purpose, or whether it's to do with spirituality, or whether it's to do with love, all the topics that he covers, there's the beauty of when you understand something deeply, you're able to share it simply. I feel like that's a good gift that he has.”

Jay, meanwhile, has “grown to really appreciate over the years and more recently” his wife’s “emotional awareness and emotional regulation." Radhi echoes his sentiment by jokingly admitting, "Basically, I cry a lot."

However, the former monk explains, “I feel like Radhi's really good at knowing ... if she just needs to take a break or if she needs to go and work out... And she's really committed to the practices, whether it be crying or whether it be working out, as a healing practice."

“And I think that self-healing and self-regulating is really difficult. I think we often seek for other people to solve that, but Radhi's really good at not only being aware of it herself, but then also the healing herself through it,” he says of Radhi, who describes herself as a “self-soother" who jokingly cries "a lot."

Adds Jay: “Our lives been through a lot of different changes over the last few years, and we've taken lots of big leaps and risks and done things that are difficult and beautiful. And she's just always found a way to choose growth. And I think that that's really hard... She's just chosen growth. And I think choosing growth is an amazing gift to have and an amazing quality to have," he noted.

As the couple prepare to celebrate the upcoming holidays, Jay says he is “really grateful to be a part of the campaign and the messaging around it.”

“The message of gift, the message of gratitude felt really great,” he tells PEOPLE. “I think the holidays can be a challenging, difficult, and stressful time for so many people. And often, it can bring about nerves and anxiety even more than joy. And I think that it's wonderful to just try to remind ourselves, and remind all of ourselves, to just take a moment to be grateful. Take a moment to be thoughtful, and really, to take a moment to help others in need and to be of service to others.”

“That, for me, is the most beautiful reminder at this time,” Jay says. "And being involved in a way to heal someone else, to help someone else, to support someone else can often be the most beautiful thing we can do at this time, because there are so many people who may need it.”

He adds, “To me, that's always what I turn towards during this time of year, and I'm glad that the campaign helped us kind of spotlight that in some of the messaging that we put around it.”
