Jay Penske’s ‘Golden Eve’ party brings out Hollywood stars, Globe nominees

For the first time ever, Jay Penske, CEO of Penske Media Corporation, personally hosted a “Golden Eve” party on the day before the Golden Globe Awards. This star-studded shindig brought out Hollywood stars and Globe nominees on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood. In 2023, Penske Media Corporation became the parent company of Dick Clark Productions, the organization that produces the Golden Globes along with Eldridge Industries. PMC has owned Gold Derby since 2015. The trophies are now handed out annually by the Golden Globe Association under president Helen Hoehne and executive vice president Tim Gray, formerly an editor of Variety.

Stand-up comedian Jo Koy has been tapped to host this year’s three-hour ceremony on CBS (also streaming on Paramount+). The Golden Globes are one of the few awards shows that honors both film and television. The eligibility period is the 2023 calendar year, with some of the top nominees being “Barbie,” “Oppenheimer,” Killers of the Flower Moon” and “Poor Things” on the movie side, and “Succession,” “The Bear,” “Only Murders in the Building” and “The Crown” for the small screen.
