Jawan is a 2023 action drama that is the brainchild of celebrated Indian director Atlee. The 169-minute thriller focuses on the journey of a jailer known as Azad, who decides to correct the wrongs in society by adopting extreme and morally questionable measures. His bid to bring about a change, while coming to terms with his tragic past, pits him against a ruthless outlaw, who is oblivious to the concept of fear.

The movie revolves around Azad Rathore, an officer at a women’s prison, who becomes a vigilante to take on a global weapons dealer named Kaali. In order to cleanse the broken system, while maintaining a promise made years ago, Azad recruits a team of female mercenaries. As they attempt to rid the nation of the vile elements that have been plaguing society, the gang faces opposition from all fronts, including the police force.
The action-packed thriller also boasts a star-studded cast, led by the charismatic Shah Rukh Khan, who portrays the titular Jawan. He is well-supported by the additional cast which includes Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, Ridhi Dogra, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, and Deepika Padukone in a special appearance, among others.
