Jaume Collet-Serra To Direct ‘Kate Warne’ For Amazon MGM & Seven Bucks; Emily Blunt Producing With Eye To Star

EXCLUSIVE: Jaume Collet-Serra is back in business with Seven Bucks after Black Adam and Jungle Cruise, with the filmmaker set to direct Kate Warne for Amazon MGM and Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks. Emily Blunt is also producing, but with an eye to star. There is currently no acting deal in place, Deadline hears. Those conversations are expected to resume post-strike.

Collet-Serra is directing from script by Melissa Stack. Gustin Nash penned the first draft which is an action thriller built around Warne, a real-life Sherlock Holmes. She was the first female detective at the Pinkerton Agency and paved the way for future women in law enforcement and forever changed how detective work was done.

Stack co-wrote Godmothered for Disney with Kari Granlund. Stack also penned The Other Woman for 20th Century Fox. She also wrote and is attached to direct Family Vacation at 20th.

Seven Bucks Productions’ Johnson, Hiram and Dany Garcia are producing. Blunt is producing for her Ledburry Productions banner. Kristina Sorensen is producing for With a K Productions. Kimberly Bialek is overseeing for Seven Bucks. Nash is EP.

Collet-Serra is repped by LBI Entertainment and Yorn, Levine, Barnes, etc, Stack is repped by CAA, Kaplan/Perrone and Hansen, Jacobson, etc.

Collet-Serra’s box office credits with Seven Bucks between Black Adam and Jungle Cruise total over $614M WW. Black Adam repped Johnson’s biggest opening as a solo star with $67M domestic, $143M WW.

Blunt stars in Prime Video’s western miniseries, The English. Blunt’s previous Seven Bucks teaming, Jungle Cruise, grossed over $220M at the global B.O., that pic a theatrical day-and-date release on Disney+ as theaters were reopening from the pandemic. She recently starred in Oppenheimer and can be seen in the Netflix movie, Pain Hustlers, on Oct. 27.
