Horror, Inc. is taking Jason into (multimedia) space by launching the Jason Universe, a platform for all things Friday the 13th.

As revealed by IGN, the Jason Universe will bring the hockey-masked slasher icon into a new era of entertainment, games, immersive experiences, merchandise, and more.

These will be announced in 2024 on the Jason Universe website and the social media handle @JasonUniverse13.

Across the Jason Universe

“For decades, Jason shocked and thrilled audiences who kept coming back for more. We’re excited to work with Victor Miller and Marc Toberoff on new projects we’ll announce in the coming months,” Robert Barsamian, President of Horror, Inc., said in a statement for IGN.

“We’re focused on honoring the legacy while elevating the fan experience and appealing to today’s horror audiences as we develop new ways to watch, interact and engage with the Jason Universe.”

“With the unique ability to remain at the forefront of pop culture for 44 years, Jason continues to top charts as one of the scariest villains of all time with strong global awareness across multiple generations thanks to billions of TikTok views plus millions and millions of gamers and movie fans,” said Sheri Conn, Global GM of Horror, Inc. “We can’t wait to introduce new Jason Universe activations to these amazing fans.”

The timing is interesting, as only recently, the Crystal Lake television series being made in conjunction with A24 and Peacock lost showrunner Bryan Fuller (Hannibal). It was free of legal wranglings that eventually saw Victor Miller regain domestic rights to the franchise, but creative differences saw Fuller’s version of the requel show fall to the wayside.

While Jason once took a trip among the stars, a Jason Universe feels like a bit of a grand term for the murderous adventures of a big guy who’s barely left Summer Camp for the last 40-odd years. No doubt we’ll soon see where Jason will show up for his new era.
