The younger brother of actor Jason Patric was reportedly killed this week after being struck by a vehicle.

On Wednesday, NorthJersey.com shared news of a pedestrian-related fatality after a 56-year-old man had been hit by a New Jersey transit bus in Fort Lee that morning. The incident was reported around 5:20 a.m. at Lemoine Avenue and Bruce Reynolds Boulevard.

On Friday, TMZ identified the victim as Jordan Miller.

PEOPLE reached out to a rep for Patric for a statement, but did not immediately hear back.

According to NorthJersey.com, police said the pedestrian was crossing Bridge Plaza South at Lemoine Avenue when the bus turned left and struck him. At the time, the victim’s name had not been publicly released.

The 159 bus line had been en route from Fort Lee to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York when the incident occurred.

Following the crash, police officers with Port Authority and Fort Lee immediately responded and performed CPR. The victim was transferred to Englewood Hospital where he was listed in serious condition.

He was later pronounced dead.

In a statement shared on Wednesday, Deputy Chief Edward Young of the Fort Lee Police Department said that no charges had been filed against the 60-year-old bus driver.

On Friday, TMZ said police were still investigating the fatal collision.

Miller had been working as a customer service rep at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan at the time of his death, the outlet said.

"Yesterday, I received an unexpected early morning phone call. It was from the Chief Security Officer of the Port Authority advising me of the death of a Port Authority employee," Kevin J. O’Toole, chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, wrote for the New Jersey Globe on Thursday. "When I heard the deceased man’s name, Jordan Miller, it stopped me. I knew him. I had met Jordan over a dozen years ago, and he had left a lasting impression."
