Bruce Willis Collides With Jason Patric and John Cusack in the First Trailer for 'The Prince'

Not long ago, the most aggravating part of being the father of a teenage daughter was having to make nice with their loser boyfriends. These days, it seems to involve having to rescue them from gangs of armed thugs.

As we see in the first trailer for The Prince, Jason Patric finds himself in exactly such a predicament. The 40-plus actor follows in the Dockers-friendly footsteps of Liam Neeson in the Taken movies (and Nicolas Cage in Stolen, and Aaron Eckhart in Erased, and Kevin Costner in 3 Days to Kill) playing the paternal hero with a violent past.

Patric’s nemesis is played by Bruce Willis. Named Omar, he’s a crime boss with a vendetta against Patric — aka “The Prince” — the assassin who killed his wife. Patric returns to his stomping grounds of New Orleans and recruits his old buddy John Cusack to get his daughter back.

This is actually the first time ’80s stalwarts Patric and Cusack have appeared together in a movie, though Patric did film a role that was edited out of Terrence Malick’s The Thin Red Line (which also featured Cusack).

Also starring rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Korean pop superstar Rain, The Prince will be in theaters and available on demand Aug. 22.
