Posting A Thirst Trap

Marvel star Chris Pratt posted a combination thirst trap and sponsored post on Instagram, flexing his muscles and his new partnership with Amazon.

"You're probably wondering why I'm standing here, low key flexing, gazing into the distance... well, turns out I'm teaming up with @amazon to show you guys everything I use for my workouts, keeping active, and all that fun stuff to get you prepped for 2020."

While plenty of people were stoked to see Pratt in his element, one person wasn't on board with one aspect of the photo. Fellow superhero (although one that is Team DC instead of Team Marvel) Jason Momoa took issue with Pratt's use of a disposable water bottle.

Jason Momoa Does Not Approve

Momoa posted in the comments, saying:

"bro I love u but wtf on the water bottle. no single use plastic. come on."

Yes, he was taken to task by Aquaman himself.

Momoa has used his platform to raise awareness about a number of environmental causes since becoming a Hollywood A-lister. He took his children to Hawaii to protest the construction of a massive telescope on the sacred mountain of Mauna Kea. Momoa is from Hawaii so the land and the culture is sacred to him. He told CNN:

"I'm so very honored to be here ... to bring my children and all my (family) here. There's one thing that's not gonna happen. That telescope's not being built here."

His Environmental Work

Momoa, who studied marine biology at Des Moines Area Community College and then majored in wildlife biology at Colorado State, also spoke before the UN on behalf of the current climate crisis.

"We are a disease infecting our planet… From the atmosphere to the Abyssal Zone, we are polluted.

We are the living consequence of forgotten traditions. We suffer the collective amnesia of a truth that was once understood. The truth that to cause irreversible damage to the earth, is to bring the same onto ourselves. We the island nations and all coastal communities are the front lines of this climate crisis.

We can no longer afford the luxury of half-assing it as we willingly force ourselves beyond the threshold of no return. As a human species we need the earth to survive. And make no mistake, it doesn’t need us."

His New Business

Cutting down on single use plastics is a pet project of Momoa's and he's even started a business -- Mananalu -- selling water in aluminum cans instead of plastics. In a viral video of him shaving off his beard to raise awareness, Momoa explains:

"About 75 percent of all aluminum that's ever been used is still in circulation today, and it's 100 percent recyclable. You drink the can, and in about 60 days it'll be back."

So, yeah, Chris Pratt. Maybe listen to Momoa on this one.
