Jason Momoa, His Scrunchie, and His Guinness Are Having More Fun Than Anyone Else on Earth
Game of Thrones had a big ol' premiere for its final season last night in New York City, and all of your Westerosian friends were there. They looked great! None, though, were having a better time than Khal Drogo himself, Jason Momoa. The actor showed up with a pink suede jacket so good-and a smile so big-I almost missed the most important part of his outfit: the scrunchie.
Yep, after shaking the Earth to its very core with his viral hair-accessory moment at the 2019 Oscars, Momoa decided to re-scrunchie for the pre-season 9 party. Here he is with GoT executive creators and producers D.B Weiss and David Benioff, selfie-ing his heart out:
That, right there, is the look of a man that knows he has a way to keep his hair out of his face, should he need to-and a stylish one, to boot. In all likelihood, the scrunchie is by Fendi, the same pink one he wore back in February. Because, honestly, it's not like the guy would have two pale pink scrunchies, right? (He would absolutely have two pale pink scrunchies, actually, and I fully support him in this venture.)
But it wasn't just the scrunchie that proved Jason Momoa is better at having a good time than you, or me, or anyone who is not Jason Momoa. Because made his way about town with Lisa Bonet, Momoa accessorized with another standout piece: a can of Guinness.
The world of Game of Thrones is a dark, unyielding one. But the world of Jason Momoa is bright, bold, and full of beer. I don't care if he's also Aquaman. This, right here, is the true proof that Momoa is a hero. May we all find strength in his example.
