A group of activists, experts and Hollywood stars are emphasizing the need for sustainable and eco-friendly farming in an eye-opening new documentary.

PEOPLE is exclusively premiering the trailer for Common Ground, directed by filmmaking couple Josh and Rebecca Tickell. The film screened at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year, where it won the 2023 Human/Nature Award.

The movie features interviews with Jason Momoa, Laura Dern, Rosario Dawson, Woody Harrelson, Donald Glover and Ian Somerhalder. Many other farmers, ranchers, scientists, educators and activists are also featured in the film.

Common Ground, according to a synopsis, tells the "sweeping and uplifting story of the pioneers of the 'Regenerative Movement' who are creating a new food system that produces tremendous quantities of nutritionally dense food while balancing the climate, healing our bodies and bringing our entire ecosystem back to life."

It's a followup to the Tickells' documentary Kiss the Ground and covers the "deeply personal stories from those on the front lines of the food movement."

The Tickells said in a statement that Common Ground is an "urgent call to action and a plan for how we can save the future, heal our climate and fix our broken food system — all through regenerative agriculture."

"Ultimately, the core of Common Ground is empowering and teaching viewers, farmers, policymakers, corporate leaders, influencers and students with the tools and information they need to alter our food and agricultural systems," they said.

"Information is power," the directors added. "By distributing the powerful information in this film to as many humans as possible, we empower millions of people to become change-makers."

Common Ground is in select theaters Sept. 27.
