Jason and Lauren Kennedy have created the perfect space for their new daughter.

The E! News host, 41, and his wife Lauren, 35, teamed up with Crate & Kids to design the nursery of their dreams for their newest addition, daughter Poppy Ford, whom they welcomed earlier this month.

"Our home is just very neutral and peaceful," Lauren says of the inspiration behind the nursery. "We have an 18 month old and the way I did his nursery corresponded with the rest of our house."

"So we wanted the same with Poppy, and we're just not very super baby in the nursery. [We] wanted it just peaceful and [to feel] like it reflected our home," the mom of two continues. "A lot of neutrals and pretty wood and all of that."

As for who took the lead on the design process, Jason reveals it was "more 90/10 me, and then Lo, 10%. We worked with Crate & Kids and we created something called a real registry. It was filled with all the baby products we needed and honestly, thank God, because I have no idea what I'm doing."

"Lo was on with their design desk to bring the nursery to life. I kept walking in throughout the process and it just felt right. I remember when the wallpaper first went up, I'm like, 'Yes, we should have done this in the other room.'"

"And then they started adding the chair, and then the baby changing area, and then all the little things they put on the wall, like the stuffed animals, it just felt...So look, I don't get super excited about nurseries and stuff, but I got excited about this one because I walked in and I felt it just felt right and it felt really peaceful to us," Jason tells PEOPLE.

"I created a mood board just myself," Lauren adds, "and then they made the best edits to it and just added so much comfort and even, oh my gosh, monogrammed things that were just really personal and so sweet, and thought of Ryver, as well, in [Poppy's] nursery," she says, referencing the couple's 18-month-old son. "So there's the cutest chair ever and he's obsessed with it and all the stuffed animals and books and just made it so cozy."

Saying that the brand was "truly amazing to work with," Lauren explains that "this pregnancy was a little harder for me, so thinking of preparing the nursery and creating it...felt like a huge project, and they just made it so easy."

There was one item they knew had to make it into the space — a big rocking chair. "I just wanted a comfy area to sit in there so much, and you're doing feedings and it could be in the middle of the night, and really throughout the day, and we wanted to...be comfortable," Jason says.

"It's a rocking chair and it's just so cozy and really, I love the structure of it so much, just aesthetically too," Lauren adds. "And then the little Raffia floor lamps and the table lamps, they're just so feminine, but also just the style we like. It was the perfect little mix for our little girl."

Since this is the couple's second go at creating a nursery, they knew there were a few things they wouldn't need this time around, including more toys. "We're really minimal," Lauren explains. "I feel like we're even minimal with Ryver and we just kept it that way."

Adding that they wanted to have one area of organized toys, Jason reveals that within the first year, "we were teaching Ryver the cleanup song and having him put his things away nicely. So we had that same little space in Poppy's room, and hopefully she takes after Mom and Dad because we are clean freaks."

"We like a really organized nursery and we want it just to be a welcoming space for our friends and family when they're here and for the kids to enjoy, too."

Even Ryver is a fan of his sister's nursery. "I love it that Ryver has a space in there," the proud mom says. "He can go in there and sit in that little chair and read the books and play with the bunnies and the blocks."

"He's already taking all of Poppy's bunnies from Crate & Kids, so they put a bunch of cute toys and stuff in there," Jason says. "And he went in there yesterday and he took, I would say 50%. It'll be cool seeing them take toys back and forth from each other's nurseries."

"He's been going in the nursery for a while now, and I'm not sure if he's jealous of it," the TV personality continues. "I think he goes in there and just is trying to process it and see what's going on. He likes new territories and new spaces, but I could tell there's a really cozy rug in there and he loves just laying on it and playing and reading books and stuff."

"And right when Poppy came home, or the morning he met her, he brought in her bunny from her room and put it in her little bassinet. It was so cute," Lauren adds. "So I feel like he knows it's her space, but I feel like he knows he can go in there and get comfy and play and just enjoy it, too."

Jason and Lauren also added a few personal touches to the nursery, telling PEOPLE that their son made a welcome home sign for Poppy on the front door. "We added that in Poppy's nursery and we put it near her crib," Jason says. "And that's the first piece and we'll definitely build on that."

As Poppy gets older, the newly minted parents of two say they have a few ideas as to how to evolve the space. "Dance floor in the middle," Jason jokes.

"Ryver would love that," Lauren agrees. "I think just getting to know her personality and then letting her be creative in there, but obviously keeping it pretty. Letting her, I don't know, maybe pick her bedding and as we change her beds, making it just more her as she gets older and as we get to know her. I think it'll be her little cozy oasis space."

"I'm just going to give her the number of the design desk team from Crate & Kids and I'm sure they'll hook her up," Jason hilariously adds.

The couple is already loving being parents of two. "I just cannot get enough of her," Lauren says. "And it's funny the second time around because you know more what to expect. I feel like you just embrace, I feel like we embrace it a ton with Ryver, but it's like you almost remember these moments more, it seems."

"Ryver is just the sweetest with her and our dog is the sweetest with her," she continues. "I think it's like your love expands to a level you just didn't even understand could happen. So I feel like we're loving it."

"This morning we were bringing Ryver up on the bed while Lo was feeding Poppy and he, every day that passes just gets closer and closer and then he wants to touch her and pet her and poke her," Jason says. "And you can see his little brain processing it, and he is getting more comfortable and it's really, really sweet to see. And he keeps saying, 'Baby, baby, baby,' over and over."

"This morning he said Poppy for the first time!" Jason adds. "So this is new territory for all of us and we're all navigating it and it's really beautiful to experience."
