Jason Kelce Jokes About Being One of PEOPLE's Sexiest Men of the Year: ‘Beauty Is in the Eye of the Beholder'

Kelce was named one of PEOPLE's Sexiest Men Alive of 2023 alongside Timothée Chalamet, Jamie Foxx and Usher

Jason Kelce is celebrating his title as one of PEOPLE's 2023 Sexiest Men of the Year.

The Philadelphia Eagles center, 36, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to respond to a tweet from ML Football about him being part of the annual issue — which he decided to give his own clarification on.

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder…” he jokingly wrote in response to the tweet which also noted that Timothée Chalamet, Jamie Foxx and Usher were listed in the running.

Kelce, who was already a Super Bowl champion but soared to additional fame from his New Heights podcast with brother Travis Kelce and his Prime Video documentary, was also asked about his new status as one of the Sexiest Men Alive during a recent interview with SportsRadio 94WIP.

“Are you actually one of the sexiest men alive in your opinion? Because PEOPLE magazine says you are,” the interviewer asked, to which he responded, “I’m not even the sexiest man in my family, let alone the sexiest man alive. I mean what are we talking about here?”

“It’s fun and the publicity around the family and everything has gone to a completely different level. But yeah, that was funny to see for sure,” he added.

He also noted that he had heard “rumblings” about him being in the running for the title and when he ultimately found out he was in the Men of the Year section, and not the cover (which went to Patrick Dempsey), his first reaction was, “Hey it’s not bad. Pretty nice.”

“Do you walk around the house and tell your wife? Does it make you feel sexier?” the interviewer teased, to which Kelce laughed and replied, “Exactly.”

"My head did not need to get any bigger walking around the house, that's for sure," he added elsewhere in the interview.

Despite all the recent spotlight he has gotten, Kelce told PEOPLE in his interview for the Sexiest Man Alive issue that he keeps it real as a husband to wife Kylie Kelce and as father of three. He recently welcomed his third daughter, Bennett Llewellyn, with Kylie on Feb. 23, 2023, born a few weeks after the Kelce brothers faced off against each other at the Super Bowl.

“We’re just trying to have fun,” Kelce tells PEOPLE about life in the spotlight.

While the 2023 PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive was unveiled as Dempsey on Tuesday's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, there were many others who came close to the title, including Emmy nominee Pedro Pascal and rocker Lenny Kravitz.
