Jason Derulo Channels Michael Jackson in Musical Tribute

ABC’s new summer series, Greatest Hits, celebrates some of music’s most popular songs from the ’80s, ’90s, and early 2000s. Such rock and pop icons as Rick Springfield, REO Speedwagon, and king of soundtracks Kenny Loggins performed during the premiere episode. The show also featured a musical tribute to Michael Jackson by Jason Derulo.

Derulo was the perfect choice for the tribute, as he revealed, “Michael Jackson is my hero. He is the reason I am who I am today. When I was 4 years old, I saw him for the first time. I saw how he moved the crowd and how people were just so touched.”

Even though the show is called Greatest Hits, Jason didn’t perform one of Michael’s more popular hits like “Beat It” or “Billie Jean.” Instead, he sang “Human Nature,” from the Thriller album. Derulo sported Jackson’s trademark white socks with black shoes and nailed the dance moves made famous by the King of Pop. While nobody can truly duplicate Michael Jackson, Jason did a pretty good job capturing the spirit of the music legend.

Greatest Hits airs Thursday at 9 p.m. on ABC.
