Jared Leto scaled the outside of the Empire State Building on Thursday, Nov. 9, to promote his Massive Seasons tour with 30 Seconds to Mars, telling "Today" that "I was more excited than nervous to tell you the truth. But I have to be honest, it was very, very hard."

It was harder than he thought it would be, the Oscar-winning actor told "Today."

"Just the endurance it took, the stamina that it took," he said. "And it was very sharp."

The singer scaled the east side of the building from the 86th floor to the 104th floor.

What we know about Thirty Seconds to Mars 2024 tour

Thirty Seconds to Mars' Massive Seasons tour, in support of "It's the End of the World But It's a Beautiful Day," plays Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix on Sunday, Sept. 1, with AFI, Poppy and Kenny Hoopla.

This is Thirty Seconds to Mars' first headlining tour in more than five years.

In a press release, Leto explained his morning climb.

"The building is a testament of all the things that can be done in the world if we put our minds to it," he said, "which is largely the inspiration behind our most recent album, 'It’s the End of the World but it’s a Beautiful Day.'”
