Janet Jackson brought out J. Cole during her ONE Music Festival set. On Saturday (Oct. 28), Jackson was in the middle of performing 2015’s “No Sleeep.” Suddenly, a spotlight began to shine behind the headlining icon, and Dreamville’s head honcho emerged from the shadows to spit his verse from the record. The crowd can be heard going crazy in the clip before Cole even begins his portion of the performance.

“I go my way, you go yours/ You taste real life, I taste tours/ Sweet at first, but after a while/ Too much sugar, they say, is bad for your smile,” he rapped on stage as Janet smiled and adlibbed his lyrics. “And I wear a frown now, ’cause I miss real/ I miss a warm house, and home cooked meals/ And you miss junk food, that’s why we work/ You bring cooked food and I bring dessert/ And meet up at the place that we always do/ The one swimming through my mind, that was always you.”

ONE Music Fest also featured performances from headliner Kendrick Lamar, Megan Thee Stallion, Brent Faiyaz, Bryson Tiller, The Dream, Coco Jones, Tems, Tink, Ed Lover, Trina, El Debarge, and more.

“No Sleeep” appeared on Janet Jackson’s eleventh album, Unbreakable. The LP dropped on Oct. 2, 2015. The album was supported by three singles including, “No Sleeep,” “Unbreakable,” and “Dammn Baby.” Jackson’s album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and sold an 116,000 album-equivalent units in its inaugural week.

Unbreakable would go on to be one of the highly revered albums of the year. Janet’s work was featured on 14 best album end-of-the-year lists, including looks from Rolling Stone, BET, Pitchfork, Spin, and Slant Magazine.
