‘Jane the Virgin’ Adds ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ Star Nia Vardalos (Exclusive)
“Jane the Virgin” has cast Nia Vardalos in an upcoming episode this season, Variety has learned exclusively.
The “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” actress will guest star as Barbara, a woman who plays a critical role in the relationship between Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) as it reaches a crossroads.
Vardalos will appear in episode 19 of season one.
Previously announced, the CW comedy has cast Rita Moreno as the mother of Rogelio De La Vega (Jaime Camil) and Jane’s paternal grandmother. She’s set to make her debut in episode 18.
