Jane Seymour and Boyfriend John Zambetti Reveal Their Kids Set Them Up (Exclusive)

The actress went Instagram official with her musician boyfriend earlier this month

Jane Seymour and boyfriend John Zambetti have their kids to thank for setting them up.

While attending the Wags and Walks 12th Annual Benefit Gala on Saturday evening, the actress, 72, detailed how she and her musician beau got together after going Instagram official earlier this month.

“Well, our kids put us together,” Zambetti told PEOPLE exclusively at the event, as Seymour echoed: “Yes, our kids put us together."

“So we certainly don't have to worry about the kids not approving of who we were with,” Zambetti added. “I'm very lucky to be with her.”

According to Seymour, her new beau "wrote me some love songs. He's a songwriter. I think that's what really got me in the end.”

“Just to close the deal,” Zambetti added, as Seymour joked, “Yeah. Three so far. I think there's an album on the way.”

The pair believe their union was written in the stars, as their sons share a common musical background, which is what they say led them to each other.

“His son is a very successful rock musician with a group called The Palms. And his name's Johnny Zambetti,” Seymour told PEOPLE. “And I have a son who's a rock musician too, Johnny Keach, so when we talked about them, we say 'My Johnny,' [since] they both have the same name.”

Seymour has been married and divorced four times. She shares children Katherine, 41, and Sean Flynn, 38, with ex-husband David Flynn, and also shares twin sons John Stacy and Kristopher Steven, 27, with ex-husband James Keach.

When it comes to spending time with her new partner, the pair share that they like to ”go to a lot of music things."

“I have a lot of friends that are musicians in town,” Zambetti told PEOPLE. “We like to go see them play. And she never really went to the dives to see, that's where the real music is. That's where the real players are playing. So she loves it. She loves going everywhere and she loves music.”

“So I love introducing her to stuff that, even though she's lived here a long time, she really was unaware of that side of L.A.," he added.

Seymour went Instagram official with Zambetti last week, as she posted photos of the pair posing poolside together.

Now, dating in her 70s, Seymour told PEOPLE that her new relationship has been "absolutely fantastic" so far.

“I am having the happiest time of my life. In many ways,” the actress admitted.

Seymour also shared that she and Zambetti have a romantic tradition of celebrating their anniversary every month since getting together.

“This time in life, you're not going to wait 50 years, are you?” Seymour said.
