Jane Lynch returns for new “Only Murders in the Building”: 'I'm in a lot'

"I'm in five out of 10 episodes," Lynch says, teasing the show's upcoming fourth season.

The mystery is already taking shape for the fourth season of Only Murders in the Building.

Jane Lynch's Sazz — spoiler alert — may have died at the end of season 3, but the show's not finished with her yet.

Lynch told PEOPLE she's returning for season 4. "Well, I'm the murder victim, which is not a tease," she told the publication on May 9 at the Alzheimer's Association Magic of Music Gala. "And so I have some really great flashbacks."

The Best in Show star didn't let her not-tease tease pass without an enigmatic preview, adding that she will "also appear in [the season] another way."

"I don't want to give it away, though, but I'm in a lot," she said. "I'm in five out of 10 episodes, so I'm excited."

Lynch, who plays Charles Hayden Savage's (Steve Martin) love-stealing stunt double, has only appeared in four episodes of Only Murders in the Building but popped up at least once in each of the series' three seasons.

While details on the upcoming season are still sparse, the show will have Charles, Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez), and Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) on the case of what happened to Sazz and whether the killer was actually trying to snuff out Charles. Showrunner John Hoffman told PEOPLE that their investigation will explore the theme of "consequences."

"I think the idea of what you create is a thing you put out to the world, and sometimes you can't be prepared for the repercussions of what potentially the world does with your thing, and how they feel about it," Hoffman said.

“That’s a challenging line to walk, and sometimes you have to face it in that way,” he continued. “So, the podcast and everything else that’s happened, and what it all means, and what it could have been meaning all along. That’s a really interesting world to look at for these three who stepped in that way.”

In addition to the return of the Party Down actress, Meryl Streep will also be back, and the show will add Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy, and Kumail Nanjiani to its rogues gallery.
